THE WORST PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS IN ALL OF HISTORY IS HAPPENING IN OUR LIFETIME.

Today, Christians are the most persecuted group in the world.  There are countless Christians in other parts of the world who endure imprisonment, torture, and even death because of their faith in Jesus Christ.  The Persecuted Church Prayer Team is committed to praying for these brothers and sisters across the globe.

WHAT IS RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION?

Religious persecution is the mistreatment of an individual or group because of their faith.  Even in America, our modern culture increasingly applauds the despicable ill-treatment of Bible-believing individuals.  In many parts of the world, untold numbers of our Christian brothers and sisters suffer harassment, property damages, displacement, imprisonment, physical assault, torture - even death - because of their faith in Jesus.  Some governments have even legislated persecution by effectively outlawing the Gospel.

HARD TO BELIEVE?  CHECK THE FACTS:

• As many as 7,000 people have been murdered for their Christian faith in a single year.

• The International Society for Human Rights - a secular organization - states that, "80% of all religious freedom violations in the world today are directed against Christians."

• There used to be approximately 1.5 MILLION Christians in Iraq. Today there are approximately 250,000.  many were killed for their faith, others fled to other countries as a result of persecution.

• Roughly 215 MILLION Christians today live in countries where they face the daily threat of discrimination, interrogation, arrest, imprisonment, rape, torture, or death.

• In the first six months of 2018, there were 1,350 documented deaths in Christian Nigerian farming communities by Fulani militants. 

• Every day, approximately 11 Christians are put to death for their faith somewhere in the world. By the time the average American Sunday worship service has concluded, one of our brothers and sisters in Christ have been killed.
